BREAKING NEWS: IT'S AN UNLIKELY LOOKING SPACESHIP BUT VIRGIN GALACTIC IS A GO

Growing up as a kid and all through my adult life, I have been fascinated by our possibilities for traveling the stars. I hasten to add, not the kind of travel limited only to rich celebrities and corporate moguls but space travel open to ordinary people with a flare for adventure. 

Oh how sweet it would be if I could somehow save from my barely-can-make-two-ends-meet salary to take the trip of a lifetime and to, if only for a few days, get away from this all.

It's a lovely thought but reality calls. My more immediate disappointment is with the look of the Galactic spaceship itself which more looks like a cross between a corporate jet and an experimental weather craft. Come on guys, if we are going to travel the stars lets go in something that looks like a spaceship...you know, something...well something a little more Star Trekish.

Anyways, so much for wanting to impose my own insignificant will on another enormous step for mankind, here are some amazing shots of the White Knight 2 heralding the age of space tourism!

Wow. Sharper Image had a zero gravity flight (the one Stephen Hawking flew, I think) package for sale last Christmas, and I thought that an intriguing retail display. I'm going to watch for space flight debit cards at my favorite grocery now...

Yes...it's a fascinating era indeed and just to imagine the competition has not even begun to rev their machines..

It will spawn new products, new industries...a new way of life. Can't wait!
