CONNIE WILSON: GUEST AUTHOR EXTRAORDINAIRE
Connie Wilson
Readers will know that guest-writers are a constant injection here at Jollyjo. It provides a great opportunity to tap into the "second coming" experience of others. One of those writers is the supremely talented, hip and funny Connie Wislon.
Connie Corcoran Wilson is the author of five books (Training the Teacher As A Champion, Performance Learning Systems, Inc.; Both Sides Now, AuthorHouse; Ghosts of Route 66: Vol. I, Quixote Press; It Came from the ‘70s, Baer Press; Out of Time, Lachesis Publishing).
She also has written for five newspapers, taught writing at six IA/IL colleges/universities, and writes for five blogs. She is an active voting member of HWA (Horror Writers’ Association) and a founding member of Quad City Penwomen and the Midwest Writing Center in the Iowa/Illinois Quad Cities. She has interviewed Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.; John Irving; David Morrell; Joe Hill; Anne Perry; Frederik Pohl and others for SciFi Weekly, Reflection’s Edge, the Brutarian, etc. and has published a number of short stories in online and print journals.
She holds a Master’s degree (+30 hrs.) from the University of Iowa (English and Journalism) and Western Illinois University, with additional study at Berkeley, Northern Illinois University, and the University of Chicago. She has radio and television experience, founded two businesses as CEO (Sylvan Learning Center #3301, 1986; Prometric Testing Center, 1995), was the Film and Book Critic for the Quad City Times for twelve years and will be covering the Republican National Convention and the Democratic National Convention for AssociatedContent.
Her blogs are WeeklyWilson, ConnieCorcoranWilson and Myspace.com/ConnieCorcoranWilson. Married 40 years, Connie has a son, Scott and a daughter, Stacey, who will turn 40 and 21 this July (with the family celebrating in style in Las Vegas.) She also has a 300-lb. blue frog in her backyard, but that's a story for another day.
